Samsung S5600 review

The Samsung S5600 was launched by Samsung at the same time that they launched the, rather similar, Samsung 5230. It is a large touch screen phone that in typical Samsung fashion, looks fantastic.

Sony Bravia

This Samsung S5600 measures 102.8mm x 54.8mm x 12.9 mm and weighs 92 grams, so it is quite a light phone for its size, and has a very big 2.8 inch touch screen. Under the screen are 2 touch sensitive buttons and a navigational pad. At the occasion you can only get the Samsung S5600 in black, but it looks fantastic. Camera-wise, there is a 3 mega pixel camera, with auto focus and an Led flash. Samsung have also been kind enough to include some industrialized camera features like smile shutter, image stabalisers and geo-tagging. Geo-tagging is one of the most recent industrialized camera features that has proved very popular. It allows you to automatically tag photos with the location at which they were taken.

Expect the music player to reserve most music formats and there is also an Fm Radio on the Samsung S5600. There aren't any industrialized music features, but the sounds quality is decent and enough for most users. There is a large 80Mb of internal memory, but this can be increased by adding a Micro Ds card. Samsung have included the basic applications, coarse on most phones now-a-days, like a calendar, a personal organiser, alarm clock and a calculator. Any way there are two industrialized applications worth mentioning. These are A Gps sailing and a very clever feature called Screen Gesture Lock. This is when you unlock the S5600 by drawing a letter on the touch screen, which will simultaneously open up a designated application. You select the letter and the application. There is also good internet association with the Samsung S5600 having 3G Hsdpa, Gprs, Edge and allowing you to join together to third party devices via Bluetooth.

In summary, the Samsung S5600 is a great phone that sits between regular phones and smartphones. It has a great touch screen, good internet connectivity, decent camera and music player and looks beautiful.
